  Whats the best internet music file sharing thingy....?

  have been using morpheus for a couple of years now, and hasn't been too bad at all, got about 400 tracks download.

  since gettiing aol broadband, the diversity seems to have diminished a bit, either i'm on the wrong dsl provider or morpheus isn't as good as it used to be.

  the one i was on previous (can't remember the name now) went totally pearshaped after it got served a writ for using copyrighted material.....anyway, know of any other good music file sharing sites?

  This would get rid of most of the dross "we can do it in a studio and mime on stage" rubbish

  Good point Simon, I think most musicians would prefer it this way, to come to some sort of middle ground but the record companys can make too much money for them to stop. Also, think of all the money they make buying the rights to music and then endlessly making complilation CD's every year and saving even more money by using these same songs in the dross 'boy bands' etc that they promote and sell. This is business I suppose but they are killing artists in the process.

  if you succeed in your hope

  OK, I can dress words up a bit sometimes ...the WBTS taught me that.

  The fact is I wouldn't be able to succeed in my hope if it wasn't for this sort of thing. And I rest a lot on my musical career, it's a love and a passion of mine that I will not let go off.

  I have ethics, but when it comes down to this sort of thing, who's it hurting really ...greedy rich peddlers of music. I also believe in using a bit of my common sense as well as my emotional concience.

  I'm a student I can't afford to buy CD's at this price and I do a Music Tech course, so it's very important that I have good music CD's. I usually hire them [about a pound each] from the library and then burn them would you consider that to be a bad thing. I'm poor and I can tell you this, I wouldn't have a chance of a career in music if there wasn't file sharing. This is the real world I live in.

  Yeah, I reckon but I think he would have been pushing it a bit though, but to go all the way. I think she knew they were busted, I mean she looked like she had her head screwed on but lets face it, he was completely useless.

  Mat, I'd say this isn't some sort of divine direction you may have felt. I call it the paranoia that all JW's are taught to cultivate progressively. Sometimes little thoughts of our experiences as JW's like to visit us again but personally I only let that strengthen my resolve, although that can be easier said than done. I mean this sort of abuse ..and that's what it is, is not easy to sort out in our heads but we all bash away and progressively we will get there in the end but it takes time.

  I suppose you're right kls. We can help people who WANT to change but maybe I'm just to hopefull in helping those who don't. I haven't been susceptable to the sort of JW attitude you were describing for a long time.
